Chapter 152 Unrelenting

Von Elias Aurelius didn\'t finish his personal agendas for today. He had left the office of the bureau of immigration with a strange mixture of feelings.

"This… this isn\'t right." Elias quickly returned to the Aurelius\' abode with a sense of frustration and also a sense of injustice.

It was with every fiber of his being that he knew that the two Vampires he encountered were of a noble bloodline.

"The Vardokens." Elias said, and tried to remember the historical lessons that discussed them. He passed through the doors and was quickly greeted by numerous attendants.

"Lord Elias, welcome back home!"

"Thank you." Elias inclined his head in greeting, but didn\'t stay too long to chat with them and instead rushed for the library.

The people of the Aurelius House found themselves surprised by the concentration of the young Vampire Lord. He was normally zealous, and fiery to blaze through his day to day affairs but this time he was charged with a certain energy that seemed even stronger than before.

His people liked him a lot due to his charisma and charm, even relaxed nature that made him one of the most beloved in Nyx, but he didn\'t spare much time.

"Is there anything we can do to help you, my lord?" a couple of servants took the initiative to follow him.

If it had been anyone else, the Vampire noble in question might have gotten frustrated at their interruption but Elias glanced at them and smiled in relief.

"Ah, just what I needed. A couple more hands and eyes will always be useful, I\'m looking for books that detail all of the noble Vampire Houses for the past century. There\'s something I need to discuss with my grandfather."

The eyes of the servants widened. It was well-known to them that the Aurelius Overlord was a busy man who was most often preoccupied with his own business and yet the fact that his grandson wanted to talk with him meant something of great importance.

"A-at once, Lord Elias!"

The men and women all quickly dispersed to do as their young lord asked.

However, it didn\'t mean that Elias simply stood around and waited for them to finish the task. Instead, he also walked up to the bookshelves he remembered and picked out a book that he knew was going to be useful for him.

Like most heirs to power, Elias spent a majority of his youth on studying and absorbing knowledge that was bound to be useful.

"Based on how they interacted with me, it seems that they lack their station that should have been available for them." Elias frowned.

While the entire group had made the request to keep it a secret, it still warred with what he thought was right.

"According to the message we\'ve received from Lux, it\'s only the Weisse House, its sole heir, that could take over as the Overlord of its city and yet they were hiding two possible heirs from the Vardokens." Elias shook his head. "I\'m afraid that even if they wished to keep it a secret, it is a matter that still involves all of the Houses."

While Elias was preoccupied with his current book, the servants exchanged looks and discussed silently what they thought the books were for.

"I am sure that he has finally taken an interest in his prospects, that is the only thing that the Overlord would entertain at such a short notice."

"Nonsense. It\'s something different–you\'ve seen how much energy that our Lord has shown. That won\'t change so easily."

If there was any topic that the young lord of the Aurelius House wouldn\'t actually look at them too favorably with, it was this very discussion.

All of the servants moved quickly to get what their lord wanted, but they were also quite immersed with the idea of their young lord\'s future.

"I\'m not too open with the idea too though, Lord Elias shouldn\'t be forced to do anything that he didn\'t want." a young woman argued as she looked down at the book in her hand furiously.

"Now isn\'t the time for your childish crush." one of the older servants rolled his eyes. "I know it\'s whimsical, but you cannot fill your head with mindless fantasies."

"I… I don\'t have any fantasies!" the maid fumed, bright red and then threw the book at the other servant.

Before it could slap him against the face, the book floated and warbled in the air for a couple of seconds before it fell into the older servant\'s hand.

"That\'s…" the maid frowned and looked startled. "That\'s just you showing off is it?"

"Am I really?" the male servant asked and sighed. "I\'m quite sure that Young Lord Elias can do better. I remember that when you nearly dropped all those plates before."

The maid\'s face turned even brighter red and she crossed her arms.

If it weren\'t for the fact that Elias floated all of the dishes and made them fly into a cart, then she might have already lost her job at this point for her incompetence.

"But that\'s a different matter entirely." the maid said.

"I think you know what I mean." The older male servant took the book in his hand and looked at the cover. It depicted a beautiful sigil that was associated with noble Vampires. "I had to practice hard just to be able to do that much, and you don\'t have any telekinesis at all, do you?"

"... I do not." the maid frowned. "But that\'s not really something that everyone has. I can carry a greater deal than you."

"That is true, but that just proves my point." the male servant smiled but it didn\'t reach his eyes. "Compared to Lord Asher and the Aurelius family, and other Overlords, we are severely lacking and thus unworthy."

If there was anything that was important to the Vampire community, and especially the nobles, it was the fact that they needed to keep their bloodline pure.

Losing their powers would be too much.
