Chapter 184: Weibo’s Trending Search List

Su Yang was clear that Han Yi did not share “Find Me”‘s sharing link on her Weibo intentionally. He knew that it was because he had told Deeny to implement an automatic sharing function after one posted something.

If it was just a plain sharing of the app, it would obviously feel like an advertisement, but with the little tagline, it felt more personal as if Han Yi had shared it on her own will.

With that in mind, he habitually tapped on the comment section, but he was prompted to log in to Weibo.

Su Yang looked at Deeny who smiled and then tapped her hand in the air. Immediately, the comment section appeared in front of Su Yang.

[Whoa! Up this early to study?]

[Have you ever seen the 6 a.m. sun in Beijing? Han Yi has!]

[What app is this? It must be good since Han Yi recommended it, right?]

[Yiyi is so beautiful!]

Su Yang quickly went over the comments.

‘These comments really feel hardcore...The idol-fan culture nowadays is really scary...’

Su Yang then opened “Find Me”. Han Yi’s picture had become the hottest picture in the app with a few hundred comments and a few thousand likes.

‘I guess “Find Me” has accumulated a number of users...’

However, Su Yang knew the numbers were not real. Unlike the part-time job app, “Find Me” was more of a ‘want’. The whole ecosystem of the app had yet to fully form and users might not stick around for long. Especially Han Yi’s fans, they had downloaded the app out of curiosity or just simply to chase their idol. Therefore, the number of downloads could not be taken seriously.

On the other hand, the part-time job app was a ‘need’ as people downloaded the app to make money and to search for good-paying part-time jobs.

‘But, hey, even if the users might not stick around, they still downloaded the app and I should figure out a way to keep them here! ASAP!’

With that in mind, Su Yang ran back to his room to get the updated proposal for “Find Me”. He gave it to Deeny and said, “Here are some updated plans. It’s quite simple, so try to finish it in a few hours. Remember to focus on the camera filters, stickers, and the tag functions so that the users can tag their pictures and label them.”

A quick thought later, he added, “Oh, right, remember to add a recommendation section below Han Yi’s profile. Try to tailor the recommendation to the gender of the users. If it’s a girl, recommend more beauty, lifestyle, and girly stuff. If it’s a guy, recommend more girls to them.”

Deeny saluted, “Roger that, Master!”

Su Yang rubbed her head and said, “I’m counting on you.”

After running up and down the villa to add points, he finally caught a break. He ate his breakfast, washed up, and prepared to go to class.

On the way to campus, he took a detour to visit Pool’s milk tea shop to check on them. There was a line in front of the milk tea shop though it was not as long as Pool had claimed it was.

Maybe it was because some of the customers already got their milk teas or the lucky brick’s duration was over, but the line was getting shorter.

Through the window, Su Yang saw Pool’s bright and wide smile while his small eyes were curved into two thin lines.

‘I think the milk tea shop is starting to get on the right track.’

Su Yang did not disturb them and continued walking to campus.

...

Meanwhile, Han Yi remained clueless about the picture she had posted on her Weibo. A sudden phone call woke her up.

She opened her blurry eyes and answered the phone, “Hello...who is this?”

William’s voice sounded from the other end of the call, “My dear madam, why didn’t you tell me that you are going to post an advertisement on your Weibo? I thought you had the day off. Why are you reading scripts early in the morning? Try not to exhaust yourself.”

Confused, Han Yi said, “Huh? What? What advertisement? What script?”

William said, “You posted a picture of you reading scripts on your Weibo.”

Han Yi was fighting her sleepiness as the blurry brain of hers could barely function.

‘Did I post something on Weibo? Did I? I don’t think so...’

It was then that she received a message via WeChat. She squinted her eyes at her phone and realized it was William sending her a screenshot of her post.

Han Yi’s mind cleared up all of a sudden when she saw the screenshot. She crawled down from the bed and said, “Huh? I posted this? Are you sure, William?”

It was William’s turn to be surprised. “Wasn’t it you? Did someone hack your account?”

Han Yi rubbed her forehead, trying to rub her sleepiness away. She said, “Hold on for a minute.”

She squatted down beside her bed with her forehead propped on her hand while she checked her Weibo. After a while, her brows were tightly furrowed and she quickly opened “Find Me”. She found a picture of herself there.

Confused, Han Yi tried to recall when she had posted the picture. ‘I don’t think I’ve posted this picture before...Is it a Trojan attack from the app?’

However, the moment the thought popped up in her mind, Han Yi discarded it because she was using an iPhone, which had a closed system, and she had downloaded “Find Me” on the app store, so it should be free of Trojan malware.

‘What happened?’

Han Yi calmed down and carefully thought about what happened. She then realized that a notification on the app had woken her up earlier.

‘Did I clumsily post the picture earlier?’

With that in mind, she slapped her forehead, appearing upset by what she had done.

‘Han Yi, can you not be this dumb and clumsy?’

After coming up with a conclusion, she quickly updated William about what happened.

William did not know whether to be angry or happy after hearing Han Yi’s explanation. “My goodness, my dear, you are really...? How could you...? Sigh. Do you know your fans are praising you for this?”

“Praising me? What for? Because I clumsily posted a picture on Weibo?” Han Yi failed to comprehend the situation.

...

After leaving the milk tea shop, Su Yang jogged to his faculty.

However, after reaching his faculty, he realized that the little jog could not even be considered a warm-up, so he ran two more rounds around the Faculty of Literature.

After the morning exercise, Su Yang headed to class. He habitually went to the last row of the lecture hall, and right after he sat down, he received a call via WeChat.

With the bone conduction earphone, Deeny was able to speak directly to Su Yang whenever she wanted. She informed him, “Master, it’s from William Li.”

‘William? What’s the occasion?’ Su Yang related William’s call to Han Yi. ‘Is this because of Han Yi?’

He said, “Answer the call.”

The call was put through and William’s voice boomed from the other end, “Mr. Su! Did you see the advertisement Han Yi posted for your app?”

Su Yang smiled and said, “Yeah, I saw it. I really have to thank her.”

“Oh, it’s what we should do. I was wondering whether you’d be interested in pushing our collaboration further.”

“What kind of collaboration?” Su Yang asked.

William said, “Let’s work together and put this on Weibo’s trending search list.”

“Weibo’s trending search list? How?” Su Yang raised a curious brow.

William said, “Actually, Han Yi posted the advertisement on her Weibo because she personally liked your app. The fans are praising her professionalism, and she has a new upcoming drama to promote, so I was thinking...why don’t we work together and push this news to the trending search list? Let’s make this something big.”
