Chapter 143: Mishap!

Having gotten used to using her mana to search their surroundings, it only took them about five minutes to find another opponent, but this time the opponent was a lot stronger than the previous one, as they had both gotten a lot stronger. As Ark inspected the opponent, even he was a little surprised by the strength of the opponent Ephine had chosen.

The opponent this time was not a normal magical beast, as it was a humanoid. This monster was known as a High-orc, the next step on the evolution path of a normal orc, a creature that had immense physical prowess.

The level cap of a High-orc was high, and some High-orcs could probably even beat Ark. This High-orc wasn\'t too high level though, and Ephine and Atar definitely stood a chance, at least if Ark used the strength Atar showed earlier as a reference. The High-orc had a crude bone club in one of his hands, his weapon of choice.

As it saw Atar, it instantly got mad, and it started to speak in its foul language, spitting all over the place as it rambled something incessantly.

Atar didn\'t know what the High-orc was saying, but he knew that it was insulting him, and he was ready to fight! His fists that he had started to have in his pockets, went up in front of his face, as Ark had told him to hold them. Even though he knew that it was to protect himself, he was pretty relaxed in his stance, and it wasn\'t going to offer much protection if someone actually attacked him.

Atar wasn\'t much of a defensive or calculating fighter, he liked to go all-out, and just brawl until there was a clear winner.

The reason Ark told him to keep that stance was just to offer him some minimal protection, as it was better than nothing. The High-orc seemed to be eager to fight as well, and the club that it had dragged across the ground was instantly raised high into the air, ready to be brought down at any time. Atar wasn\'t afraid of a challenge, and he decided to accept this high-orcs attack head-on.

The high-orc was annoyed by Atar\'s provocation, how dared this kid stand up to him?

The high-orc was mad, and it started to growl, before it madly swung its crude club fiercely. Even if the swing was very unsophisticated, and normal, it contained a terrifying amount of power, something that no normal human would ever be able to contend with. But Atar wasn\'t normal, and he wasn\'t a human for that matter either.

Ark was satisfied with the courage he showed, whereas Ephine was a little more proud, and also a little concerned. This was her only son, and he was just a little pup in her eyes, not a warrior.

Unlike his mother, Atar didn\'t see himself as a pup anymore, after he had gotten his new name, his power had taken a massive leap, and he was a lot stronger than before, although he himself was still the same little pup as before.

"BANG!"

A loud sound reverberated throughout the surroundings, as the high-orc and Atar clashed head-on with each other. Dust clouded Ark\'s vision a little, and he instantly used the wind to get it out of his way, he wanted to see how it went. As the dust cleared, the winner of the exchange of blows was apparent.

No matter how strong Atar was for his age, there was no way for him to beat a high-orc head-on like this. After this exchange of blows, it was obvious that the high-orc was a lot more powerful. Atar was exhausted, as he tried his hardest to resist the strength of the high-orc. In stark contrast to him, the high-orc just smiled cruelly, not using much strength to take care of him at all.

Beads of sweat trickled down Atar\'s forehead as he stood face to face with this vicious orc. Before the stalemate could continue any longer, it was interrupted by an arrow made out of crystal clear water slamming straight into the high-orcs face.

The hideous face of the orc was contorted in pain, and some of the dark green flesh that covered it was ripped off completely, making it even more hideous. Ephine, who had fired the arrow, almost regretted it upon seeing how ugly the orc became, it was a little hard to look at it. The orc backed a little, and then roared loudly in rage. Atar, whose body was that of a child, was hurt by the roar.

Blood spurted from his ears, and he retreated quickly, crying as he did.

As Ark saw Atar\'s pained expression, and the small tears that ran down his face, he was instantly enraged. He didn\'t expect it to hurt Atar at all, especially not by roaring, the fact that Atar\'s human form was still young was something that Ark didn\'t really think about it. But seeing him crying in pain now, Ark just wanted to tear this fucking orc apart!

Before he did something like that though, Ark\'s priority was to heal Atar, and make sure that his pain went away, along with his tears.

A shining bright golden mana entered Atar\'s ears in streams, and the blood that was trickling out of his ears quickly disappeared. Atar managed to calm down fairly quickly, it wasn\'t like he had never felt pain before, but now that it was gone, he had no reason to cry or be sad.

It was the first time he had ever felt such severe pain in his ears, and it had shocked him quite heavily, leaving his mind a little befuddled at the moment.

Ephine was even angrier than Ark was, but she had an easier time controlling herself. But this time, she wasn\'t going to contain her anger at all, this filthy orc had dared to hurt her one and only son, it was going to pay for it with its life! Her anger was like an ocean, endless and unstoppable, and so was her mana.

The white bow in her hand started to vibrate intensely as she kept pouring more and more mana into it, seemingly never going to stop.

The air in the surroundings was becoming a little damp, and a suffocating pressure suffused from Ephine. This time, she wasn\'t going to hold back at all, and she was going to go all-out. The massive amounts of mana turned into a blue arrow.

At first, it looked like a normal water arrow, but as she kept pouring in more and more mana, the arrow kept growing bigger and bigger, until it couldn\'t really be called an arrow anymore.

The water arrow had turned into a javelin, resting atop the quivering bowstring. She squinted her eyes, and released the bowstring, sending the javelin hurtling through the air at an insane speed!
