Chapter 86: Potential Farm

FARM MENU:

-Purchase Potential Farm: 100 PP

*One time note: The Potential Farm will award Potential Points daily. As the rank of the Farm increases, the amount of Potential Points awarded will also increase. The farm cannot be upgraded higher than the rank of the System itself.

Farms: 0/1

It doesn\'t tell me how many Potential Points I will get per day though...

The price was affordable, so William decided it wouldn\'t hurt to test the Potential Farm out.

Purchase the Potential Farm.

--PURCHASING FARM--

A mental picture of a small field appeared in William\'s mind. In the corner on a single plot, he watched as a purple acorn was planted and quickly grew into a small sapling.

--Potential Farm Purchased--

The System automatically refreshed the Farm panel for William to see.

FARM MENU:

-Purchase Potential Farm: 100 PP

Farms: 1/1

-Potential Farm: F (1000PP to next rank)

William expected the Farm to start at E Rank, but it didn\'t seem to count as a talent. It also appeared that similar to the ask function, purchasing a farm didn\'t put any progress towards the next System upgrade, which was a bit disappointing.

The purchase option for the Potential Farm was still there, but William had already filled his only farm slot. He would probably need to upgrade the System again before he could buy more farms.

Next on the list was William\'s newly acquired Fire Root. He pulled it out of his Space Ring, inspecting it with interest. How do I use this?

He tried a few different methods, but ended up spending a point to ask the System when he was unsuccessful.

-Eat it.

"Really? That\'s it?"

-That\'s it.

"Hm." William did as he was told, taking a big bite out of the Fire Root. It was somewhat hard at first, but when his saliva came in contact with the surface it began to melt in his mouth.

William swallowed the Fire Root, which started to heat up as it traveled to his stomach. Before it got too far, the feeling suddenly disappeared and William\'s Fire Element Mana in his body became restless.

The restlessness became an itch that William could only satisfy by releasing a few fireballs. He tried to restrain its power, but still managed to set his bed on fire.

William cursed as he used the Water Element to douse the flame, both extinguishing the bed and soaking it.

The itchy feeling hadn\'t subsided yet. William resorted to creating dozens of tiny fireballs to detonate in the air. He continued this until his Mana was completely spent and the itchiness subsided.

William gasped for breath. No one warned him that the Fire Root to be so aggressive!

Even so, the pain wasn\'t anything close to what William experienced when he upgraded his Fire Affinity in the past.

While shooting off the fireballs, William could tell that the strength of his Fire Magic was at least 20 percent stronger. With the improvements from his various Titles, William could probably kill a Golden Core Beast with his Fire Element now!

This was a massive increase, since he could previously only fight Golden Core enemies at close range with the help of Arrays.

He did, however, notice that his Mana was running out extraordinarily quickly lately, but it was still within manageable levels. It wouldn\'t be a bad idea to consider upgrading his Mana Regeneration Talent soon.

With the Farm purchased and the Fire Root absorbed, William had just one more task to complete. There was plenty of time before dinner, so he traveled to the Great Hall to visit Jur.

The Great Hall wasn\'t just for Cultivation Techniques. There were also thousands of books stored on the shelves, completely free for the disciples to read from as long as the books didn\'t leave the building.

There was a specific set of books William was looking for.

"Oh, if it isn\'t Disciple William!" Old Jur immediately recognized him.

"Hello, Old Jur." William replied.

"I haven\'t seen you since a few days ago with the assassin business. What do you need?"

"I\'m just looking for some books to read if you don\'t mind, Sir."

"Oh please, I told you to be less formal with me son. Go right ahead, the books are all over there." he pointed to a separate wing next to the Cultivation Techniques.

"Thank you, Old Jur." William headed in the direction Jur pointed out and began searching the shelves.

It wasn\'t long before Will found what he was looking for.

"History of the Thieves\' Guild. This sounds about right." Will made quite a few enemies the last few weeks, and he didn\'t plan to stay idle much longer. As someone close to him once said, offense is the best defense.

William grabbed the book off the shelves and sat down with it in a corner.

The System could answer a lot of questions for William, but it would cost a lot of Potential Points and sometimes he didn\'t know what to ask. It was much cheaper to use the Sect\'s library.

He spent a few hours reading carefully through the entire book, searching for anything interesting that could give William an advantage. He learned a lot of general information from a group of bandits near Blue Moon City, but he needed more than that.

A few page flips later, William found something useful. Written on a page was a list of previously known Thieves\' Guild hideouts and some resources they controlled. The book was a few years old, but some things would never change.

William pulled out the map he previously bought from the market and did a quick comparison. He marked off locations of interest where there was a high density of Thieves\' Guild activity previously.

He then used a dozen potential points to ask the System a series of questions that would fill the gaps in his information, further refining the map.

His work was shoddy, but William felt he had done a decent enough job. If someone else looked at the map they might not understand, but at least Will could read it.

He closed the book and searched for information on the Pillars of Justice from the other books. This was a much easier task, since the organization didn\'t hide from society like the Thieves\' Guild.

William didn\'t need to mark their locations on the map, since they had a headquarters in pretty much every major city. Instead, William studied their combat techniques.

Public knowledge suggested the Pillars of Light used many unique abilities related to the Light Element, but a quick answer from the System told William that was just the beginning.

The Pillars of Light also used a powerful soul-based attack that would knock their enemies unconscious, or even wipe away their consciousness in some extreme cases. It was a very brutal Technique, very unlike the righteous organization they claimed to be.

That Technique reminds me of Filipe\'s eyes. I wonder if there\'s a connection... William thought.

He put away the books and mulled over the information he just learned. The Thieves\' Guild and the Pillars of Justice were formidable enemies, but William was finally confident that he had a chance.

I\'ll focus on the Thieves\' Guild for now, but first I will need a lot of Potential Points...
