Chapter 58 - 56: Qiao Jing Takes Advantage of Being Drunk to Snatch Zhan Qipei's Bed
Her gaze slowly shifted, from Lu Zijin to Zhan Ruiting, then onto Xu Moqian. Each time her eyes landed on someone, the person looked back at her with a surprised and delighted expression, which was replaced by disappointment as she moved on.
Finally, Qiao Jing’s gaze settled on Zhan Qipei.
He was the one.
The most trustworthy.
Zhan Qipei glanced back at Xu Moqian and the others, and the meaning in his eyes was crystal clear only to them.
It made Xu Moqian and the others quite irritated.
Zhan Qipei looked down at Qiao Jing, who was lying on the sofa, and adjusted his long eyebrows that seemed like fog-covered mountains.
“Can you walk by yourself?”
Qiao Jing nodded and, propping herself up with the back of the sofa, she managed to stand up shakily.
“Not even offering a hand! That’s not gentlemanly at all!” Xu Moqian could not help but remark dryly.
“Isn’t that a good thing? It shows that my cousin really doesn’t harbor any of those kinds of thoughts towards Doctor Qiao, which makes it safe,” Zhan Ruiting said.
Upon hearing this, Xu Moqian felt there might be some truth to it.
After Zhan Ruiting’s words, Lu Zijiao also felt relieved. He then turned to Lu Zijin and said, “Bro, don’t worry. Young Master Zhan once told me that even if Qiao Jing stripped naked and lay on his bed, he wouldn’t spare her a second glance.”
Lu Zijin nodded.
After Qiao Jing managed to stand up wobbling, she glanced back at Lin Xiuxiang.
Before Qiao Jing could speak, Zhan Qipei was the first to say, “Tang Yan, take Miss Lin home.”
“And what about the boss?”
“I’ll get a designated driver.”
“Alright then, I’ll take Miss Lin home first.”
After finishing his words, Tang Yan looked towards Lin Xiuxiang, “Miss Lin, take your time walking out.”
“Yes, okay, fine,” Lin Xiuxiang stuttered as soon as she spoke, too embarrassed to look at Tang Yan.
She couldn’t help but blush and her heart raced at the sight of Tang Yan, who stood tall at nearly two meters and looked rugged and strong.
Tang Yan, in turn, was also feeling like a deer in headlights, stealing glances at Lin Xiuxiang’s face now and then, finding her more and more appealing.
Half an hour later, Qiao Jing was delivered home by Zhan Qipei.
“You go rest first; I’ll go buy some hangover medicine.”
“Mm,” Qiao Jing replied, sitting on the sofa and rubbing her forehead.
Zhan Qipei saw the state Qiao Jing was in, so drunk he estimated she didn’t even know who he was anymore.
This woman dared to get so drunk in public, completely devoid of any sense of safety. If she weren’t surrounded by friends, she would definitely be targeted by those with wicked intentions.
“Lie down for now, and don’t you dare go out. I will be right back,” Zhan Qipei said, concerned.
“Mm,” Qiao Jing lay down in response.
She was surprisingly obedient at this moment.
Zhan Qipei then covered Qiao Jing with a blanket.
“Water…” Her muffled voice weakly uttered that single demand.
Zhan Qipei had just changed his shoes when he heard this sudden request from Qiao Jing.
“What a hassle.”
After grumbling, Zhan Qipei took off the shoes he had just put on, went back to the living room, poured a cup of water for Qiao Jing, and then left.
No sooner had Zhan Qipei stepped out than Qiao Jing suddenly opened her eyes.
Supporting herself with the sofa, she staggered towards the bathroom.
She felt sticky with sweat all over, which made her uncomfortable.
After quickly showering, she emerged from the bathroom in her natural state, walked into the bedroom, got into bed, drew up the covers, and fell asleep.
When Zhan Qipei returned, he found Qiao Jing was no longer on the sofa.
“Where is she?”
She couldn’t have run off, could she?
At that thought, Zhan Qipei felt a surge of panic, then quickly turned his head towards the entrance, where the girl’s slippers were still in place, she likely hadn’t gone out.
Had she gone to bed in her room?
Zhan Qipei looked towards the bedroom door and noticed that his own bedroom door was ajar.
It was closed when he left.
Had she made a mistake and gone into his room?
Caring the medicine, Zhan Qipei returned to his bedroom, only to find Qiao Jing lying on his bed, snug under his blanket and sleeping soundly.
“Turns out drunkards are truly the most annoying!”
Not only did he have to take care of her, but now she was monopolizing his bed.
“Time to take your medicine.”
Zhan Qipei approached the bed, placing the medicine on the bedside table.
Qiao Jing showed no reaction whatsoever.
“If you don’t take your medicine, go sleep in your own bed,” Zhan Qipei added.
At this, Qiao Jing reacted.
“So noisy, go away,” she said, and went back to sleep.
With pursed lips, Zhan Qipei tried to contain his irritation, but after a few breaths, he couldn’t hold it back anymore. He reached out and yanked the blanket off Qiao Jing.
The next second, he was completely flabbergasted.
He stood there like a pole, staring at the person in bed without blinking.
Her skin was as white as snow, shining, and perfect, like immaculate suet jade, causing his eyes to uncontrollably wander.
Gazing back and forth.
As he looked, he suddenly remembered what he had once said to Lu Zijiao.
Even if she were naked in his bed, he wouldn’t take a second look…
Recalling this, Zhan Qipei closed his eyes and cautiously replaced the blanket over Qiao Jing.
Only then did he reopen his eyes.
“Go to your own bed,” Zhan Qipei nudged Qiao Jing’s arm.
Qiao Jing frowned, clearly annoyed.
“Get up quickly!” Zhan Qipei nudged her again.
Qiao Jing’s patience ran out. Her hand shot out from the covers, grabbed Zhan Qipei’s arm, and yanked hard.
Caught off guard and overpowered by Qiao Jing’s surprising strength, Zhan Qipei stumbled and fell onto the bed.
How could this woman have no shame?
Just as Zhan Qipei was about to struggle, Qiao Jing pinned him down with her arms and legs, forcibly holding him in place on the bed.
